Difference between General Dentists and Dental Specialists

A dentist that has specialized in a certain area is termed as a dental specialist. A general dentist starts practicing right after dental school, while specialists have to undergo additional post-graduate training in the respective field. Dental specialists are required in case complex procedures have to be performed. This means that they restrict their services to a limited number of procedures related to their specific field.
